Cornstarch Puffs

Oh What Fun! Mrs. Litynsky found these super neat cornstarch puffs! All you do is add water and and ta-daaa they stick together. Look at all the 3D structures we made.

Goop

Wednesday students enjoyed creating Goop from just two ingredients...cornstarch and dish soap. It was great to see their faces as they explored this new material.

Yesterday we had a visit from Kids On The Block who taught us about strangers and the number to call for emergencies.

New Addition

Thank you to Mr. Callow for the new sleds! We love our outdoor play!

Special Visitor

Thank you to Paiyton and her family for bringing in a special visitor. Although he was not alive, this Tarantula created alot of lively discussions and investigations.

Peep and the Big Wide World: The Whatchamacallit

Last week we noticed the students beginning to build tracks for their cars using big blocks. Next thing we knew they were racing the cars down ramps they had built on the end of the track. And so it begins....a look into ramps.

We started with this video, to get us thinking about
ramps and where we see them in our world. Our students came up with great ideas such as the park, the water park and a skateboard park. First we experimented with learning the difference between rolling and sliding. Jaxon told us that things that slide are flat. Kaiden figured out that things that have wheels roll. Noah told us all things that are round, roll. What a great inquiry.

Hop's Introduction to Coins

Parents you may have heard your child humming this catchy tune around the house. We introduced this cute song to help our students learn the names and values of Canadian Coins. Enjoy!

Snow much Fun!

Thursday we went outside to explore the blank white canvas that snow gives our little artists. What beautiful pictures! The colours really were vibrant.
