Exploring magnets

It started with a spark when Sandra was so excited to show use how her little pet shop figures "stuck" to the filing cabinet. We quickly leapt into action and gathered a variety of materials to explore magnets with. Students learned that magnets move objects. They discovered that magnets can move things with even touching them. They explored how some magnets push things away and some magnets pull things towards them. Finally we went on a magnet hunt in our class and school and learned that things made of metal are magnetic and things made of plastic and wood are not.
